Ex-Praga Khan bassplayer launches convincing solo-project

After having played bass in several bands such as Praga Khan, The Chicks, Coma and having collaborated with people as illuster as Brian James (The Damned) and Paul Zahl (Tuxedomoon), Simi Nah has now launched her first solo-project, simply titled Simi Nah. While the new wave and electro revival is booming, she's presenting an album, "Cherchez la Femme" with lots of personality. "Cherchez la Femme" will be presented live during a showcase in the Windows (Brussels, Rue Philippe de Champagne, 50) this Friday the 3th of December 2004. The gig will be followed by an electro/'80s party. About her debut she says: "It is a synthesis of 80's and actual technology, but also an intimate universe combining French poetry with metaphors." The Side-Line staf was more than impressed after hearing the material! Positive reactions also poured in from Laurent Garnier (France), DJ Herbal (Spain), Dj Reiner (Germany), Dj Fergie (BBC radio 1 - UK), The Electro Boobies's (USA) and so on. You can discover Simi Nah online at http://www.siminah.com/.

Military pop from Der Arbeiter
Posted by: Side-Line on Dec 02, 04 | 1:00 am | Profile
imageThe first official release by Der Arbeiter, "Reflejos del Sol", will be soon available on Divine Comedy Records. Born in 2001, this project can be roughly described as 'military pop', with minimal electronics and acoustic elements. While music reflects the image of 'the Worker’ that expresses his will with sharpness, precision and strength, the lyrics are based on the words of poets like Hölderlin, Rilke, Meister Eckhart, Miguel Serrano and others.
